students draw street scene paying attention to details such as street signs, fire hydrants, road lines etc. then create their own house with construction paper to add into their street design.
student look in magazines for either things they like, or for things about school. they cut out these things, write their names in large letters (or bubble letters in capable) and cover word with pictures. good start of the year project to learn names.
trains created from basic shape stencils. compile them together to make a train and tracks, alternatively you can give students pre cut basic shapes to glue together into a train (all different sized squares and rectangles works best, with 1 triangle for engine front)
give students different sized black and white circles to cut and have them seperate them into pile and create repeating schemes. talk about how black and white create contrast in piece.
students draw bugs on seperate paper and cut them out. they are then added to a habitat collage. great for spring or in conjunction with a science lesson.
